Every jar of Sunside honey reflects a particular place and moment in time.
Our bees forage across the changing landscape of New York's Northern Catskills and the Hudson Valley, visiting everything from spring blossoms to summer wildflowers and late-season blooms. As the forage changes, so does the honey—its color, aroma, texture, and flavor.
This is terroir: the character of a place expressed through what it produces.
Midsummer | Medium
A beautiful expression of summer's abundance. Our bees visit thyme, hyssop, catnip, lavender, mountain mint, echinacea, borage, thistle, milkweed, and other flowering plants throughout the season. The result is a balanced, floral honey that's lovely in tea or enjoyed straight from the spoon.
Fall | Dark
Deeply colored and wonderfully complex, our fall honey reflects the late-season landscape, including Japanese knotweed, asters, goldenrod, and other autumn blooms. Rich, with notes of caramel, it's especially good drizzled over warm oatmeal, yogurt, or baked goods.
Every harvest is a little different. That's part of the beauty of local honey—and part of the story in every jar.
